Loc Retwist & Style Challenge

Note: Competitors may only compete in either Loc Retwist & Style Challenge or Neatbraid Precision Maze Challenge because they will run simultaneously at HEBS.

Overview:

The Loc Retwist & Style Challenge celebrates professional excellence in loc care and creative styling. Competitors will demonstrate their skill, precision, and artistry by completing a full-head retwist and styled finish within 60 minutes — using only LocN Styling Gel

Judging Criteria:

• 1. Neatness & Parting (25 pts) – Precision, cleanliness, and consistency of sections.

• 2. Technique & Execution (25 pts) – Proper retwist method, tension control, and professional product use.

• 3. Creativity & Style (20 pts) – Originality, artistry, and visual impact of final style.

• 4. Time Management (15 pts) – Ability to finish fully within the 60-minute timeframe.

• 5. Overall Presentation (15 pts) – Model’s complete look and final polish.

Rules:

• 60 minutes total.

• Model Requirement: Competitors must bring a live model with a full head of locs (minimum shoulder length).

• Allowed Products: LocN Styling Gel ONLY (no other gels, creams, sprays, or oils permitted).

• Tools: Competitors may bring their own clips, combs, dryers, and accessories (pins, wraps, beads, bands).

• Pre-Work: Models must arrive with freshly washed, natural locs. No pre-parting, pre-twisting, or partially styled work allowed.

• Finishing Styles: May include buns, twists, updos, or creative designs — but must start from a complete full-head retwist.
