Overview:
The HEBS Scissor Precision Championship is a technical showcase of control, discipline, and
elevated craftsmanship. Competitors must execute a complete haircut primarily using scissors,
demonstrating advanced wet cutting, intentional sectioning, and refined shape development.
This category emphasizes the ability to build structure without reliance on machines,
highlighting true mastery of shear work, weight distribution, and finishing detail.

RULES & GUIDELINES
PERMITTED TOOLS & USAGE:
• Scissors
• Thinning/Texturizing shears
• Trimmers (allowed ONLY for hairline detailing)
• Razor (allowed ONLY for neckline or hairline cleanup if necessary)
STRICT LIMITATIONS:
• No clipper use at any stage
• Razor cannot be used for shaping or bulk removal
• Trimmers cannot be used for fading or blending
TECHNIQUE REQUIREMENTS
• Must demonstrate wet/dry cutting techniques
• Clean sectioning and partings required
• Use of scissor-over-comb and/or freehand techniques
• Refinement using scissors and thinning shears only

DEDUCTIONS / DISQUALIFICATIONS
• Use of clippers = Immediate disqualification
• Misuse of razor for shaping or bulk removal
• Overuse of trimmers beyond detailing
POWER & ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
To prevent electrical overload and ensure a safe competition environment, all competitors must
follow the power usage guidelines below:
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
• Each competitor must bring a power strip with a built-in circuit breaker (surge protector)
• Power strip must be in good working condition with no damage
• Extension cords must be heavy-duty and safety rated
BLOW DRYER SPECIFICATION
• Maximum 1800 watts recommended
• Only one (1) blow dryer per station at a time
• Continuous or excessive high-heat use should be avoided (use medium to low heat)
POWER USAGE GUIDELINES
• All tools must be plugged into the competitor’s personal surge-protected power strip
• Do not overload outlets with multiple high-wattage tools running simultaneously
• Be mindful of shared power across stations
PROHIBITED
• Non-protected power strips (no circuit breaker)
• Damaged cords or exposed wiring
• Multiple blow dryers running at the same station
• Unauthorized electrical modifications or equipment
