Overview:

One of the most inclusive categories in modern barber competitions. The HEBS Texture Transformation Championship challenges competitors to transform natural hair texture into a refined and structured style while respecting the hair’s natural pattern. This category celebrates natural hair artistry and texture mastery.

Eligible Hair Types:
All textures are encouraged:
• Coils
• Curls
• Waves
• Straight hair

Style Examples:
• curly sculpting
• textured taper
• afro shaping
• curl definition styles
• natural textured crops
The final style must show clear transformation and shape control.

Competition Time
45 minutes total
• 35 minutes — haircut and shaping
• 5 minutes — styling
• 5 minutes — finishing
Judging Criteria:
Shape & Balance: 25 points
Texture Control: 25 points
Cutting Technique: 20 points
Styling Creativity: 20 points
Overall Transformation: 10 points
Total: 100 points

Judges will evaluate:
• control of natural texture
• shape and structure
• styling creativity
• balanced silhouette
• polished finish
The transformation should enhance the natural beauty of the hair texture.
