Overview: The NeatBraid Precision Challenge is a celebration of detail, discipline, and creativity in braiding. This competition spotlights the stylist’s ability to produce flawless, clean, and consistent braids while showcasing speed and artistry. Competitors must complete a full-head braid design within the allotted time using PureO Natural Products ” Neatbraid ” exclusively.

This category emphasizes the art of braiding with immaculate partings, smooth finishes, and professional execution — raising the standard of braiding on the global stage.

Judging Criteria: (100 Points Total)

  • Completion — 25 Points
    • Full style completed within time
    • Braids are finished from start to end
    • No unfinished sections or rushed areas

    Neatness — 15 Points

    • Clean scalp and braid bases
    • No frizz, fuzz, or excessive product
    • Overall polished appearance

    Precision — 15 Points

    • Sharp, clean parting
    • Controlled braid execution
    • Clean lines and intentional placement

    Symmetry — 10 Points

    • Even distribution from left to right
    • Balanced braid size and spacing
    • Consistent alignment across the head

    Overall Design — 15 Points

    • Clear and intentional style concept
    • Braids flow together cohesively
    • Finished look is visually appealing

    Consistency & Technique — 20 Points

    • Even tension throughout the head
    • Uniform braid size and control
    • Proper technique from root to ends

Competition Rules

  • Time Limit: 60 minutes total.
  • Model Requirement: Each competitor must bring a live model with natural hair (minimum shoulder length).
  • Allowed Products: PureO “Neatbraid “ONLY (no gels, sprays, or oils outside of the provided PureO line).
  • Tools: Competitors may use their own combs, clips, and accessories (beads, cuffs, bands, or wraps).
  • Pre-Work: Models must arrive with clean, product-free hair. No pre-parting, pre-braiding, or partial styling allowed.
  • Braiding Styles: Can include cornrows, box braids, stitch braids, or intricate geometric designs, but must display precision and consistency across the full head. No hair attachment allowed.

Note: Competitors may only compete in either Loc Retwist & Style Challenge or Neatbraid Precision Maze Challenge because they will run simultaneously at HEBS.
